Whats up?

Wow the days are flying by! Can you believe that it is already the last day in September? This year has flown by. This year we have had some pretty big changes in our family. Michael is in Minnesotta, I started school and a new job! Stephanie is a junior in college and Holly graduated high school, Kelly started high school and Kevin is a senior in high school, David is still David either really happy and content or really not! Charlie has been busy with his job and his ministry, going to school to get his credentials as a pastor.  There is so much going on and it is hard to keep everyone together sometimes, but today I get to have lunch with Holly, again! I am really enjoying getting to spend some extra time with her. It is days like these that I am so glad that I didn’t drown my children at birth! As you know if you read my posts regulary I do not always feel this way. Emotions are definately not a safe way to make decisions!  God has been so very good to me, I am blessed…so blessed!

Life just gets so busy…

I haven’t had the time to write! School is very demanding right now, and work is everyday! I worked this last weekend 10 hour days. I am tired today but I do get to sleep in on Wed!(I don’t have to get up until 6:00 am!!  As busy as I have been I am blessed and content. Wednesday nights we are going through the book “Bad Girls of the Bible” By Liz Curtis Higgs. She is such a fantastic writer and the women are opening up in our class. It has been a fun class to teach/lead.  I just wanted to take a moment and write today. I don’t know when I will have time again.  Maybe later today I can do more on here…naps are just so important to me right now!!! 😮  Tata my friends for now. E~

Remember: Obama loves America like O.J. loved Nicole!!!

very thought provoking….

You couldn’t get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience. You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

‘From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days?

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that’s all it is – a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public seems to feel comfortable with this and campaigning for him.

We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet some are OK with this for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol.

Michael Update

Michael is doing well in the program right now. He is, however, really getting homesick. They had a labor day picnic, much like the Memorial day picnic that we went to before. We were unable to attend the labor day picnic though. Michael was pretty bummed about that. I haven’t talked about the cost of sending Michael to MnTC. It is very expensive and we will be paying on this for several years after Michael has graduated and come home. We also have the expenses of getting Michael home for his passes and going to visit him in MN, keeping him supplied with spending money, stamps, snacks etc… I have been strongly encouraged by several to put it out on my blog that you can donate to help defer the cost of Michaels stay at MnTC. If this is something that you feel the Lord wants you to do then please contact me at lanie_6_1994@yahoo.com and I will get you in contact with the people who can help you do just that. I am only putting this out there because there may be some who have wanted to help but didn’t know how to approach the subject. We feel strongly that this investment in Michaels life is well worth every penny and every sacrifice that we have had to pay to get him the help he so desperately needed. God has been faithful to us and to Michael in so many ways.
If you are on Michaels correspondence list please write to him. He is feeling really disconnected from everyone right now. He wants to know what is going on in everyones life, what they are doing, feeling, everything. He is struggling in school right now, so please pray for him to be able to focus and get the work done. The type of school work they have is PACE’s and my experience with Michael and homeschooling is that PACE’s don’t work well for him at all. This is something that he is going to have to overcome with everything else going on at the same time. All in all he is doing great, but he is having a hard time right now.
